Students from KCAL’s Technology Student Association (TSA) chapter earned top honors at the recent state competition, with 38 students submitting projects and bringing home multiple awards.

KCAL students captured 13 first-place finishes along with several second- and third-place awards. The strong performance also secured KCAL the Division 1 State Champion title overall.

Among the top performers, the high school Architectural Design Team — Gabrielle Brandow, Briana Gutierrez, Colby Hestermann, Addison Hoyt, and Ananya Kosaraju — earned first place for their “Barn Inspired House” model and portfolio. The team’s winning project qualified them to compete at the TSA National Conference in Washington, D.C., in June.

In addition, Claire Hollaar received the prestigious Top of Texas Award for her perspective drawing.

The results highlight the students’ creativity, technical skill, and dedication, as KCAL continues to excel in competitive STEM and design programs.
